Agia.- Vereniging van gidsen-vertalers van de Alentejo, gesticht op 24 juni 2003, dit was de eerste vereniging van een toeristische informatie verstrekkende groep, van Portugal. Gevestigd in Évora , wereldpatrimonium stad van UNESCO en hoofdstad van de Alentejo.Dit is het gebied waar de leden van deze vereniging hoofdzakelijk werkzaam zijn.
Alle leden zijn officiële gidsen-vertalers , met grote ervaring in het begeleiden van bezoekers en toeristen, volledig toegerust om de individuele gast of groepen te gidsen in meerdere talen: Portugees, Engels, Spaans, Frans, Duits, Italiaans of Nederlands. .
Elke dag is er een wandeling door de museumstad Évora mogelijk, die begint om 10 uur bij de Posto de Turismo (VVV) , op het Praça do Geraldo, (Gerards plein) waar iedereen zich bij kan aansluiten. Deze wandeling gaat langs de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de stad.
Er bestaan nog ander city tours , b.v. Elvas, Monsaraz en Marvão, waarvoor van te voren geboekt moet worden.
Naast de gegidste tours door Évora, Elvas, Monsaraz en Marvão, zijn er nog meer mogelijkheden om de Alentejo te ontdekken, tours die we aanbevelen zijn:
-Archeologische tocht bij Évora: door het platteland rond Évora gaand, verkennen we het archeologische
patrimonium, zoals: Ante do Zambujeiro, Cromeleque doa Almendres, rotstekeningen van Escoural,
en de Romeinse villa Torega.
-Middeleeuws Monsaraz en de wijngeschiedenis. –Een tocht waarbij we de middeleeuwse stad Monsaraz ontdekken, met zijn sisterne en kasteel, met aansluitend een bezoek aan het wijngoed Esporão.
-Naaldkunstenaars van Arraiolos- De traditie van handgemaakte tapijten van Arraiolos ontdekken.
Met de mogelijkheid een atelier te bezoeken waar deze historische kunst in dit Alentejaanse dorp wordt beoefend.
-Het land van Koning Manuel 1- We gaan naar Beja, een stad waar we de manuelien stijl en de tegels bewonderen en in de voetsporen treden van Zuster Mariana Alcoforado met haar platonische passie.
-Kastelen aan de rivier de Raia- Alandroal, Juromenha, Elvas en -waarom niet- Olivença. Een vededigings linie van de nationaliteit, met zijn kastelen, burchten en eeuwenoude tradities.
-De Joodse geschiedenis in noord Alentejo- Het bewijs van de verbanning van de Joden uit Spanje in de vijftiende eeuw , gevormd door de gebouwen van Castelo de Vide en Marvão, deze laatste stad is kandidaat voor de lijst van wereldpatrimonium van UNESCO.
-De Alentejaanse kust.

All the members are Oficial Guides with long experience in working with visitors and tourists in Alentejo, being certified to guide either individual clients or groups in several languages: English, portuguese, spanish, french, german, italian and dutch.
Every day in Évora you will have a Guide who assures a visit to this city-museum. The circuit begins in the Tourist Office, on Giraldo Square at 10 o`clock and will lead you to discover the main points of the town.
There are also in other cities, city-tours like Elvas, Monsaraz and Marvão, it needs previous booking.
Besides the guided visit of Évora, Monsaraz, Elvas and Marvão these are some of the itineraries you may choose and that we recommend to discover Alentejo:
•Évora Archaeologic Circuit - tour along the fields around the town, in contact with archaeologic sites, such as Dolmen at Zambujeiro, Cromlech of Alemendres, pre historical paintings at Escoural and the Roman Village of Tourega.
• Monsaraz and Vineyards - discovering Monsaraz a midieval town, with its cistern and fortress adding a visit to the Wine Cellars of Esporão
• Embroiders in Arraiolos – The ancient tradition of wonderful rugs and carpets, observing the perfect work done by those women. Allied to the historical patrimony of this town in Alentejo.

Reguengos de Monsaraz, 24 de Junho de 2003 - Assinatura da escritura de constituição
Fundada em 24 de Junho de 2003, foi a primeira associação de técnicos de informação turística de Portugal, estando a sua área de influência destinada prioritariamente à região do Alentejo, com sede na cidade Património Mundial de Évora.
Tem como objectivos:
Podem ser sócios desta associação todos os guias interpretes que residam ou desenvolvam a sua actividade profissional no Alentejo.
Para além das visitas guiadas às cidades de Évora e Elvas, estes são alguns dos circuitos que lhe recomendamos e que lhe permitem partir à descoberta do Alentejo:
- Circuito Arqueológico de Évora - passeio pelos campos circundantes da cidade, contactando com o património arqueologico, nomeadamente: Anta do Zambujeiro, Cromeleque dos Almendres, Pinturas Rupestres de Escoural e Villa Romana da Tourega.
- Monsaraz Medieval e Vinicola - circuito descoberta da vila medieval de Monsaraz, com a sua cisterna e o seu castelo, complementado pela visita ao Enoturismo do Esporão.
- Bordadeiras de Arraiolos - A tradição do artesanato nos tapetes de arraiolos, com possibilidade de visita a uma manufactura, aliada à recuperação do património histórico da vila alentejana.
- Terras de D. Manuel I - Ir a Beja descobrir o Manuelino e o azulejo e tropeçar na história de Soror Mariana Alcoforado e da sua paixão platonica.
- Castelos da Raia - Alandroal, Juromenha, Elvas e, porque não, Olivença. A linha de defesa na nacionalidade, com os seus castelos, fortalezas e tradições ancestrais.
- Judiarias do Norte Alentejano - O testemunho da expulsão dos judeus de Espanha no século XV contada pelo património edificado de Castelo de Vide e Marvão - vila candidata a Património Mundial.
Realizou-se no sábado 15 de dezembro de 2018 a eleição dos novos corpos sociais da AGIA – Associação de Guias Intérpretes do Alentejo.

OBJETIVOS:
Dando continuidade aos propósitos para os quais foi criada, pretende a AGIA levar a efeito as suas Jornadas Locais de Turismo, que têm como objectivos:
• Reconhecer e dar a conhecer as várias realidades locais do sector turístico;
• Incentivar os vários organismos do poder local a desenvolver o turismo de forma sustentada;
• Assumir internamente e junto do “trade” da região as Jornadas como difusoras das potencialidades do turismo da região;
• Fomentar a troca de experiências entre os vários participantes;
DESTINATARIOS:
Deste modo, as Jornadas Locais de Turismo, estão abertas a todos os profissionais de informação turística, quer sejam associados ou não, formandos do sector turístico, bem como outros interessados na problemática do turismo.
